Leap Castle in Coolderry, County Offaly, Ireland is thought to have been built in the early 1500s although the exact date is not known. Some reports suggest it could have been built as early as the 13th century. One thing is for sure however – the castle has a very violent and bloody past. One of the most gruesome murders to take place occurred in 1532 in a room above the main hall, now known as The Bloody Chapel. Over the years, the castle has been subject to much rebuilding and remodelling and the Minstrel’s Gallery is a relatively new addition to the upper hall flooring.
Brief Summary of Paranormal Activity
Much evidence was captured and many personal experiences were felt and seen by team members. Stu identified some incredible factual evidence on spirits that resided here through history and time, in particular a poignant personal message for Sean the owner of Leap Castle, which was both incredible and sad, and information known only to Sean.
There were many strange high spikes of paranormal activity here taking place at Leap, extraordinary intelligent spirit communication involving kit manipulation during evp sessions and many incredible evp, sb7 captures, plus cam mic responses.
The Bloody Chapel was insanely electrified and a beautiful green orb of dazzling brightness was seen flying along the floor and truly breath-taking, vortex shadows near the oubliette were both eerie and sinister, but the child’s footsteps we saw walking in the dirt on the floor was an incredible moment. At that point we were engulfed in trepidation and fear, iced up, and expecting something to rush towards us.
We also captured a response saying “Elemental” when we called out to ask who was present in the minstrel’s gallery. An astonishing capture.
We utilised the following kit, night vision cameras, Panasonic and Tascam evp recorders, sb7 rempods, k2s, MG meters and proximity sensor teddy bear.
